Do you have any clothes in your closet that you would like to get rid of and find something else instead? Then you should visit Naturskyddsföreningens clothes exchange day on Gjuteriet (Verkstadsgatan 1 on Herrhagen) on Saturday April 24th.
You can hand in your clothes from 12.00 and between 13.00 and 16.00 (1 and 4 pm) you can exchange your clothes. Bring clothes you yourself would like to exchange. That means they should be whole, cleaned and fresh. Clothes that don’t fit these criteria won’t be accepted.
The exchange will work in the following way: you hand in your clothes, you will get a check for every piece of clothing you hand in. With the check/checks you can then chose clothes that other people have handed in.
Every year, Swedes are buying 24 kilos of clothes and textiles per person. The worlds clothing industry are burdening the environment and humans hard. Cotton is one of the worlds most sprayed crop, and when clothes are being made a huge amount of chemicals are being used. April 24th is the environment friendly day and Naturskyddsföreningens local society is taking the chance to make a exchange clothes day.
The student association MiNK will also be there to help during the day.
